Shabby Chic Bags

Hi Everyone
I thought I would also show you these quick and easy bags I made to wrap some pressies in. They are made from cream cotton, and stamped with Timber Brown Stazon Ink in a variety of images. I used tea dyed ribbons and lace to wrap and tie the parcels. If you haven't tried tea dye, it is really easy. Hot Water in a bowl with a couple of tea bags, pop in the lace or ribbon and swirl it around. Play around with the length of time you leave the lace etc in for different depths of colour. I recently tea dyed some paper as well and the patterns and colours it made are gorgeous.

Lots of fun and easy to make. They could also be bound together to make a fun fabric mini book - I think that is now on my list of projects to do! It's a long list but I am having so much learning and playing, hope you are too!

Wishing you all a fabulous day.

  1. Love these bags and have been wanting to make some but since I don't have a sewing machine I would need to hand sew them. Might be cute if I used colored embroidery thread? You think?

  2. It would look great with coloured thread - you could also use fabric glue to eliminate sewing altogether!
