Paris Dream Mini Album/Journal is looking for a new home!!

I am finally ready to share this project that I have been working on. The lovely Jennifer Bishop of Dreamzetc invited me to join her as a guest designer. She sent me a lovely parcel full of her beautiful paper designs and other goodies and this is the result.

If you would like to visit Jennifer's Etsy shop HERE and see all of the digital designs, please tell her I sent you!
Digital Kit "Paris Rose" - Kit 2, Great for Scrapbooking, Journals, Card Making and Mixed Media Projects

I used an upcycled ring binder as the base, so it will be easy to add extra pages and photos. The base was covered with old book pages, tissue and lots of lovely distress inks, stains and paint. The Distress paint in Antiqued Bronze and Tarnished Brass are my favourites on this - they give a lovely rich sheen.

For the embellishments I used old game pieces and paper from Dreamzetc with glossy accents to adhere and coat the top.

Inside there are lots of tucks and pockets and rich and luscious pages for your photos and stories of your trip to Paris (whether real or planned!)

I have a video flip through here, if you would like to look.

I would love to share this with one of my lovely subscribers and if you would like to enter the draw leave a comment below. No anonymous comments please.
If you would like an extra secret entry, pop over HERE to Pinterest and follow me and then pop back and leave another comment to let me know.
I will also be including followers who leave a comment on my instagram HERE and also on Facebook HERE

Marion Smith Hybrid Journey Journal - Blue 21st Present

Hi Everyone
I have been busy playing with the fabulous downloadable kit from Marion Smith.
This is the link to view the kits available from Marion
http://www.marionsmithdesigns.com/marion-smith-designs.html
I have made several of these in different sizes, and with different colours and themes. This book I printed on A3 size paper which gave me a book of 81/4" by 51/4". It is a great size and fabulous for a smash book style journal. A Smash book is a great way to keep and remember all the bits of emphemera that we collect in our daily lives, movie tickets, beautiful packaging, or packaging from a favourite store, little notes from people we love, all those 'treasures' that we can't quite throw away but don't know what to do with.
This journal was made as a 21st present. I included tags with ideas of things to remember from a special party - the food, the people, the decorations. You could have guests sign it autograph style or add quotes of things people said. It is a great place to keep all the memories together.
I created a box to match and in my excitement I didn't take one photograph!! I can't believe it, but I did remember to video it and you can view that here

I have created another couple of these books as presents and will upload the photos in the next couple of days. I must remember to take photos before I give them away!
This book was so well received that I have orders to fill - that will keep me busy!

I will be adding a seperate blog for the links of all the fabulous places I visit for free graphic images. Some of those images are included in this and my next few journals.

Wishing you all a fabulous day

Shabby Chic Bags

Hi Everyone
I thought I would also show you these quick and easy bags I made to wrap some pressies in. They are made from cream cotton, and stamped with Timber Brown Stazon Ink in a variety of images. I used tea dyed ribbons and lace to wrap and tie the parcels. If you haven't tried tea dye, it is really easy. Hot Water in a bowl with a couple of tea bags, pop in the lace or ribbon and swirl it around. Play around with the length of time you leave the lace etc in for different depths of colour. I recently tea dyed some paper as well and the patterns and colours it made are gorgeous.

Lots of fun and easy to make. They could also be bound together to make a fun fabric mini book - I think that is now on my list of projects to do! It's a long list but I am having so much learning and playing, hope you are too!

Wishing you all a fabulous day.

My first swap - Let's get Creative Mini

Hi everyone
I have been dying to show you this Mini. I am so proud of it. I have held off the photos and video to show you after it was received by my swap partner Rose from Texas. It is so exciting to think that it has travelled all the way to her home, where I hope she will love and enjoy it.
I created the paperbag album from a fabulous tutorial from Kathy Orta, and used Tim Holtz Kraft Resist paper.
Sorry for the glare - that is a fabulous 7gypsies transparency. I used a die cut from Tim Holtz for the dress form and made the flowers from the TH tattered florals die. The Kraft paper is coloured with Distress inks - vintage photo, victorian velvet, and broken china.

I couldn't fit all the goodies in the book, so I kept the Mini Journal and Mini mini book seperate. These were so easy and so much fun to make. I will be making another one soon and will do a demo for anyone who would like to make one too.

The spine was made with Grunge paper, which I embossed and coloured, and then I added a huge charm!

I love this charm. I added lots of beads, and used a bottle cap and altered domino, and added a vintage stamp to a Tim Holtz fragment. My daughter wanted to steal it and hang it on her wall - sorry Aleisha, it is for Rose!

I made a simple pocket for the inside front cover.

Each page has lots of pockets for lots of tags

The dressmaker pages are always a favourite for me.

I love these gorgeous ladies coloured in Ink with glitter and Liquid pearls to accessorize.

This tag was made with a favourite serviette image.

The back of the tag needed a gorgeous vintage button!

Lots of bling for this page coloured with Timber Brown Stazon.

The ribbons and bird are from Typo - a gorgeous store in NZ, Australia, and Malaysia

Another Serviette collage.

The back of the above tag with another serviette collage. One of my favourite techniques.

The Inside back cover. The image with the birds eggs is a digital download from Marion Smith of APieceofcraftdotcom

More tags

and yet more tags! I added the little buttons for Rose the recipient of the book.

I am thrilled that my parcel arrived safely in Texas, and that Rose likes her Mini. I loved making this for her.

If you would like to watch the video, I have included the link below. It is in two parts as YouTube wouldn't accept it as one but my lovely son has worked his magic and included links to the second.

I hope you like it and come back tomorrow to see my New Zealand Junk Jounal (and I do mean Junk!)

Take Care and Thank you for visiting.

Every girl needs an extra little book full of stickers!
