Doodle Books and a tutorial

I love these little doodle books. They are easy to make and lots of fun to play in. I used a simple binding stitch and different sizes to create different books. My favourite kraft coloured envelopes are a main feature, of course!

I have a confession to make

When I started blogging and making YouTube videos I did so to keep a record of what I make. This worked for a little while, until I realised that my photos were not very good and I didn't actually know what I was doing technically speaking. As I continued to over think the situation, I had less and less time to actually post something!! That is the problem with over thinking it doesn't leave a lot of time for the DOING!!!
So, I am officially over it. No more over thinking for me. Bad not completely fabulous photos will suffice. I accept I will need to practice before I improve and that will only come with the doing!
Please accept my blanket apology for anything that is not quite as good as I would like it to be.
I am a work in progress.
And that is half the fun!

That same voice pushes you in new directions and comes up with good, and crazy and fabulous ideas  (like the time I put the whole ugly book I made in a bucket of tea dye and then threw it in the oven and now I love it!!)

I found lots of interesting and fascinating blogs to visit and that may have have distracted me from my own blog and my to do list that has 14 projects to share, two commissioned books to finish, 16 videos to make and 73,000 unfinished projects. Not to mention housework, making money and oh no I will not mention any more!!

This week will be the turn around I swear - my new plan which replaces several other unsuccessful plans is to complete one task every second day at least!! That way I still have a day to get distracted and make 32 atc's like I did yesterday. OOps - I will start on Monday!!

Happy Mother Day

Happy Mothers Day to Mothers everywhere!

I had recently made two books for my Mum. One was a Memory book for her Golden Wedding Anniversary and the other an altered notebook for writing down important things, so I did not want to make another book. I decided to make a canvas featuring A Ladies Diary from Graphic 45 a favourite paper line of my Mum's! Took a few photos as I was running out the door. Really need to plan the photo thing better in future, as they are not the best photos, but I will add that to my list of skills I am working on.

I altered the cover and inside of the cover , both front and back of a purchased spiral bound art journal. Will remember this next time I am caught short for a present as it was a quick and easy project and it turned out really cute!

No tea dyed papers in sight!! Now that is a change for me.
