I got distracted

I had every intention of showing you my goodies from my junking journey last week - truly!

But today the sun was shining and tomorrow is the first day of Spring here in New Zealand and I thought I would pop outside for an hour and deal with a couple of weeds. The winter here has been bliss for the weeds, they are triffid like in some areas. Many hours later I can stand up straight ....just.

So instead of showing you my craft goodies and my paper creations I will show you parts of my other creation.

My Garden.

  

I love it when the spring bulbs appear and I don't remember planting them! 

Plenty of colour in the garden with camelias and ...

Hellebore's - I love them. I had to hold their heads up to see their faces but they are massed in flower.

I haven't weeded it yet but I love this little secret corner of the garden. In summer it will be the coolest spot around.

And so I don't neglect paper completely a couple of goodies from my junk shopping.

Packing my bags

Tomorrow is my hubbies birthday. We are going to celebrate it on the road with a four day road trip to friends. It will take us two days to get there and five hours to get back. Why?? - that is the good part - we are going to stop at every junk shop we find on the way!! On the way back we will just drive straight home - boring - but probably necessary -  I will be broke by then!!
I made a junky travel journal for the trip. You will laugh when you see it. It is so fat it would work for a month long holiday! I cant help myself I have to make them fat.

Why is my desk turning brown?

I saw a blog recently that is for WOYWW - Whats on your workdesk Wednesday - or something like that. I have to admit that the use of acronyms and initialism (did you know that is another word for it?? - true - I got it from Wikipedia!) is sometimes a bit difficult if you don't know what the letters stand for. I love the episode of Modern Family where Phil tells us he is cool because he knows text language such as WTF - why the face? Love it.
So I decided to show you what is on my desk today, probably not going to happen every Wednesday - more likely every now and then when I can find my desk!

So the big question is ...... Why is everything brown? and will I ever figure out the perfect way to rust?

When I know the answer I will let you know.

A few new creations

Hello there 

I didn't think I had much to share. I didn't seem to have finished very much and then I looked around and thought maybe a couple of things are piling up on my desk. Maybe more than a couple of things!

I decided to clear out some of my packaging that was falling out of the cupboard and made a pile of junky scrap books.

These were  made from the paper bags that I get when I buy goodies from the fabulous Typo store. I will show how I made them in a future post.

I am working on another Hybrid journal with downloads from Marion Smith and some cool napkin/serviettes

I have nearly finished two Alice in Wonderland minis from Marion Smith downloadable kits.

I actually finished something!! This little cutie is made from envelopes and old book paper. The inspiration came from Kit at Paper Kitz on You Tube.

On my to do list for this week.

1. Finish the Wonderland books

2. Finish all my Journals that are currently in various stages of creation. (I will admit at last count I was at 6 -  I stopped counting then)

3. Tidy up my studio - it is embarrassing!

OK -  I don't want to add anything else to my list. If I get through those projects I will update the list. That sounds fair - doesn't it??
